Enrique Marquez co-founded Marquez Public Affairs (MPA), a Texas-based government relations and strategic communications firm. In the private sector, Enrique has lobbied on behalf of Fortune 100 companies and successfully led rapid response teams for clients facing complex public relations challenges. He was recently named a Top Ten Hired Gun Lobbyist by Capitol Inside, recognizing his influence and effectiveness in the Texas Capitol.

Enrique rejoined MPA in August 2024 after serving nearly four years in senior leadership roles within the Office of the Texas House Speaker. He served as Communications Director during the 87th Legislative Session and was later appointed Chief of Staff to the Speaker, a role he held for nearly three years. In these capacities, Enrique helped advance transformative legislation, including the most significant property tax cut in American history, landmark reforms for school safety and mental health, and historic health benefits for new Texas mothers.

Enrique has held senior positions in the Texas government, serving as a senior staff member for two former House Speakers and a former Lieutenant Governor. He also served as a top executive at the Texas Health and Human Services Commission, where he coordinated statewide human services, led a 35,000-person staff, managed a $38 billion annual budget, and directed key programs such as Medicaid/CHIP, SNAP, and TANF.

A veteran of high-stakes public affairs campaigns, Enrique has overseen communications divisions for two state agencies and the Texas Association of Business, the state's chamber of commerce. He has served as the lead spokesman for multiple private sector efforts, statewide political campaigns, and elected officials, earning a reputation for strategic messaging, crisis management, and media relations at the highest levels of government and business.

Marquez graduated from the University of Texas at Austin. He is married to the Hon. Brandy Marty Marquez, and they are the proud parents of their son, Max.
